Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is a natural treatment that separates growth factors and stem cells from your blood, that can be injected into an area of the body that needs collagen or tissue repair. Platelets are cells in blood that help tissue heal and grow new cells. PRP is an extraordinary treatment because it uses your body’s own healing power to jump start tissue healing and transformation, as well as collagen regrowth. The procedure is simple, non-surgical, and completely hypoallergenic.

How It Works

A treating physician will start the treatment by painlessly drawing a small amount of blood from your arm. The blood is then centrifuged to isolate platelets from the rest of the blood. The concentrations of platelets are then injected into a treated area using a very fine needle to prevent discomfort. The procedure is quick (15 minutes total), relatively painless, and requires no post procedure care or time off from daily events. Treatment must be performed every 3-4 weeks for around 5 times (this can vary depending on what is treated) to achieve optimum results. A touch-up treatment may be required at the 8-9 months point to maintain results.

Platelet-Rich Plasma For Hair Loss

PRP is one of the most effective and safest ways to restore hair follicles on the scalp and eye brows. During treatment one of our skilled physicians will strategically place injections into scalp skin to ensure that the PRP is reaching the root of the hair follicle. It may take a while for hair follicles to be completely activated. Patients typically see results anywhere from 2-4 months after treatment. The number of treatments that you will need depends on the severity of hair loss. PRP can regrow hair on men and women of all ages that suffer from hair loss from a medical condition, stress, or aging.

frequently-asked-questions

Please send us an email to Info@Renewlaserandskinif you have any questions regarding PRP treatments.

How is PRP different from dermal filler?

Dermal filler is used to fill in specific wrinkles, and PRP is used to improve the overall quality of skin and tissues under the skin. Dermal filler is synthetic, and PRP is a natural concentration of platelets from your own body. Results of PRP last longer than dermal filler which can last for up to two years depending on the type of filler.

Is the area numbed before treatment?

Yes we can numb the area before PRP treatment for your comfort.

Does treatment hurt?

Our physicians do everything they can to prevent discomfort. Treating physicians use the smallest needles possible for the treatment, and numb the areas prior to treatment.

Are there any risks for PRP treatments?

There are no risks for getting PRP treatments since the treatment is 100% hypoallergenic. Swelling, redness, and bruising are common side effects that typically only last for a few hours.

How long do treatments take?

Treatments can take anywhere from 15-60 minutes depending on the area treated.

Do I need to repeat this treatment?

Depending upon the patient’s individual needs and treatment plan, PRP treatment can be repeated until the desired result has been achieved. Our experience shows that regular PRP treatment every 3 to 6 months can be very beneficial.

How much does it cost?

Cost of treatment depends on the size of area that is treated, and the severity of the skin condition. We frequently run PRP specials. Please see the Promotions page for current specials.
