When you want to improve how your skin looks, learn about IPL photofacial treatment in Sugar Land and Addison, TX. At Renew Laser & Skin, Dr. Nina Desai and Dr. Dhara Patel perform a skin analysis to see if you qualify for a Limelight photo facial. This noninvasive approach to skin rejuvenation is customized to the needs of each patient, their skin tone, and their skin condition. It uses intense pulses of light that heat the skin to regenerate skin cells and increase collagen production. What results is brighter, clearer, and healthier-looking skin. Fine lines and wrinkles, frown lines, smile lines, and other signs of aging are reduced.

Am I a candidate for a photofacial?

During a skin analysis at our Sugar Land or Addison, TX office, we can determine if you are a good candidate for an IPL photofacial. This photofacial goes deep into the layers of the skin to improve complexion concerns or signs of aging. There is little to no recovery necessary.

The best candidate for IPL photofacial is someone with:

• Fine lines

• Hyperpigmentation

• Melasma

• Rosacea

• Rough texture

• Sun and age spots

• Sun damage

• Visible pores

• Wrinkles

Dr. Desai and Dr. Patel can tell you if you qualify for this skin rejuvenation during a consultation at Renew Laser & Skin.

What happens during an IPL photofacial?

An aesthetician at Renew Laser & Skin will perform your photofacial in a private treatment room. Total treatment time takes about 20 – 30 minutes if this is your only treatment. To prepare for your IPL photofacial treatment, first, we will clean and dry the skin to be treated and cover your eyes with shields. We perform your photofacial with a handheld device that passes over the skin and emits intense pulses of laser energy.

Recovery from a photofacial

There is no recovery necessary with a photofacial. However, some patients look swollen and pink for a day. We recommend our patients apply a cream on the skin to promote healing and to help with any irritation. Anti-inflammatory medication is prescribed to help with swelling. For the next few days, any irregularities will rise to the surface of your skin and flake away. Never pick at your skin as it heals, as it can jeopardize your results.

Can I get multiple IPL sessions?

While you will, in fact, have visible skin improvements after your first treatment, your skin will get the best results after multiple photofacial sessions. We recommend most patients get 3 – 6 sessions monthly as it delivers gradual improvements to your skin. Each treatment will fade spots, scars, or wrinkles and give you longer-lasting improvements.
