How It Works

Opus works by using high RF energy to convert nitrogen and oxygen in the air into plasma sparks. This plasma energy creates microchannels on the skin surface surrounded by healthy skin to promote a wound-healing response. This response prompts the rapid growth of new skin cells and collagen stimulation. Unlike other treatments which remove the top layer of skin, Opus stimulates natural growth deep in your skin. As these new skin cells develop, the old ones fall away, revealing the new skin for a fresher, more youthful look. Because the top layer of your skin isn't removed, the downtime is minimal and heals very quickly. Opus is also very customizable. It can be calibrated for a "light" effect, which is like a chemical peel, or a stronger setting which is similar to laser treatment.

The actual Opus treatment takes anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes. During the treatment, you may feel some warmth as the plasma energy penetrates deep into the skin.

What is the post-procedure like?

After the Opus procedure, the treated area may be red and feel like a sunburn for about 1 - 3 days. After 3 -4 days, you may experience mild skin flaking or peeling. It is recommended that patients avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours after the treatment since their skin will be sensitive to UV light. However, you will be able to immediately get back to your normal routine after a treatment session. Your provider will tell you more about any skincare products to avoid, including the importance of using sunscreen after your Opus treatments.
