How It Works
A treating physician will start the treatment by painlessly drawing a small amount of blood from your arm. The blood is then centrifuged to isolate platelets from the rest of the blood. The concentrations of platelets are then injected into a treated area using a very fine needle to prevent discomfort. The procedure is quick (15 minutes total), relatively painless, and requires no post procedure care or time off from daily events.
What to expect after the treatment
The procedure takes 30 minutes depending on amount of hair loss. Patients are advised not to take any anti-inflammatory medication since it may interfere in the natural healing process of PRP. Patients generally have to receive this treatment multiple times before they can see any results. PRP does not pose any danger of allergy, hypersensitivity, or foreign-body reaction and it is a safe choice for many patients.
